Benton County is full of natural habitats for birds, which is why we are home to hundreds of species such as buntings, eagles, kittiwakes, goshawk, kestrel, woodpeckers, swallows, hummingbirds, egrets, cardinals, orioles, robins, owls, martins and yellowthroats. With that being said, bird watching in Benton County can be a rewarding and memorable experience.

While hiking, or biking, the many riverfront trails in Warsaw, MO, it is not uncommon to see a bald eagle fly over. With a few eagle nests in the area, it’s always a thrilling sight. Additionally, the great blue heron frequents the waterways in all of Benton County. These birds are beautiful to watch while kayaking or fishing along the shoreline.
