Update 7/23/20:  We are working hard to bring you a virtual art experience beginning September 19th in lieu of the cancelled Benton County Art Walk on August 1st.  Please stay tuned for more information to be released on August 1st regarding the Virtual Art Experience.

As promised with regards to the cancellation of the Benton County Art Walk August 1st, our committee has met and we have plans in place to move forward hosting a Benton County Virtual Art Experience.

There will be a virtual art competition, an online silent auction and a marketplace for artists in lieu of a physical art walk.

Stay tuned – we will release all of the information August 1st. In the meantime, we are in need of “vendors” and art pieces for the competition. Don‘t fret if you aren’t able to take high quality photos of your pieces to submit them virtually – we have that covered.

We look forward to moving the show virtually and will be extending any deadlines from the original dates to September 12th in the hopes of encouraging more artist participation and to continue promoting our amazing artists to potential customers on a safer platform.

For more information, contact Lynette at lstokes@visitbentoncomo.com or Dina at bentoncountyarts@gmail.com.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and we will “see” you soon!

Press Release:  7/20/20
Ozark Cigar Box Guitar Music Festival
Benton County Art Stroll
Benton County Wine Stroll

With due regard to the safety and health of the residents and tourists who live and visit our area and with concern over the increasing number of COVID cases in Missouri, the organizers of the three events on August 1 (and 2), have made the tough decision to postpone the events to 2021.

This includes the Benton County Wine Stroll, the Ozark Cigar Box Guitar Music Festival and the Benton County Art Walk.

We are devastated to share this news with you.  This year has been very challenging more so than previous years for tourism and we want to support and promote the Benton County businesses, wineries and breweries, musicians and artists within our communities, along with our state and beyond as we are faced with hardships relating to the current pandemic.  However, we also want everyone to stay safe and healthy.

Benton County Tourism and Ryan and Julie Mackey (founders of the CBG Festival) will be exploring ways to provide a virtual music festival experience in place of the actual festival at its location this year.  Additionally, the Benton County Art Walk committee is also looking into providing a virtual art competition in place of the actual event.  Please stay tuned for more information.

We will continue to work hard to bring you the unique events you love in 2021.  Thought it’s true that our August 2020 events will no longer take place in reality, we will continue to strive toward promoting tourism and helping the Benton County economy recovery from this pandemic.

If you are a vendor at these events or have purchased tickets, we will be contacting you in the near future to offer refunds or sending information about carrying over your fees to the following year.  If you have sponsored any of these events, we do appreciate your support and will be contacting you also about issuing a refund or carrying your sponsorship to next year.

We look forward to a brighter future and want everyone to remain safe and healthy.  For questions relating to the CBG Festival or Art Walk, please contact the Benton County Tourism & Recreation at lstokes@visitbentoncomo.com or 660-438-2090.

For questions relating to the Wine Stroll, please contact them through the Benton County Facebook page or the Benton County Community Foundation website.

Inside the Community Building will be art displays for competition and a silent auction – 181 West Harrison Street, Warsaw

We are excited to announce the 1st Annual Benton County Art Walk, which is held in conjunction with the 9th Annual Benton Wine Stroll.  This Art Walk is a family-friendly event.

The Wine Stroll brings hundreds of visitors and locals to sample wine from Missouri Wineries and Breweries.

The Artisan Vendor Market is for Benton County artists only.  All items sold during the Art Walk will be handmade and original work (no “crafts” or retail sales).

Inside the Community building will be an art show and silent auction.   There will be a People’s Choice Competition so vote for your favorite art pieces.  Also come and view the silent auction items available, which are submitted by local artists.  Silent auction ends at 6:30pm and winners will be announced after the announcement.  Please pick up your winning items from 7:00pm-7:30pm.

All proceeds raised from this event will go towards establishing a Benton County Arts Council non-profit organization or towards future Art Walks in Benton County.

The Benton County Art Walk is organized and promoted by Benton County Tourism & Recreation, the Benton County Extension Office and Dina Kowal Creative with partnership with the Benton County Community Foundation who puts on the Wine Stroll.

Note to vendors:  The Department of Revenue requires all vendors to have their own Missouri Tax Identification number if they make sales at retail. Unregistered vendors will need to contact the Missouri Department of Revenue 3 to 4 weeks before the event to obtain a sales tax license. The license will be issued with a statement indicating “This business is authorized to make sales in all cities and counties within the State of Missouri and is required to collect and remit all applicable state and local sales taxes.”
