Make your own fruit scrap vinegar using native plants

August 10, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer classes on how to make your own fruit scrap vinegar using native plants. Two sessions of the same class will be offered from Noon to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Lost Valley Fish Hatchery in Warsaw.

Fruit scrap vinegar can be used to make salad dressings, marinades, fruit dips, drinks, and natural, non-toxic cleaners.  Participants will learn about the seasons of the plants, how to get some for their yard, and how to make delicious vinegars from scraps after you process the fruits into jellies and juices.

Registration is required.  Please be sure to register each person in your group separately.

For more information or help with registration, contact Ginger Miller at Ginger.Miller@mdc.mo.gov or Kara Entrop at 660-438-4465 Ext. 6402 or by email at Kara.Entrop@mdc.mo.gov.
